What is a Tarot Card Reading?

A tarot card reading is a practice used for insight, guidance, and reflection. It involves a reader interpreting a spread of tarot cards, each with symbolic imagery and meanings, to provide clarity or perspective on a person's questions or situation. Interpretations can vary based on the reader's style, experience, and intuition.

But what about Oracle Cards? What’s the difference?

Oracle cards are similar to tarot cards in that they are used for guidance, insight, and reflection, but they are more flexible and less structured. Unlike tarot cards, oracle cards can have any number of cards and follow no specific rules. Each oracle card deck is unique and often focuses on a specific theme, like angels, affirmations, or nature. However, you can still override that theme to interpret what it means for your situation or perspective.

What cards do you use for your readings?

I use both tarot and oracle cards depending on what I intuitively feel the reading needs. Sometimes I won’t use oracle cards at all. Also the type of tarot deck or oracle cards I use vary on the kind of question you asked or again, what I feel called to use.

Can I pay you extra if I definitely want you to use Oracle Cards as well?

No. I prefer to work in a way I feel pulled to for your reading. And I really wouldn’t want to read something to you that actually isn’t necessary or needed.

I bought a reading but I wasn’t happy with the answer. What do I do?

That is a tricky one and I’m very sorry my reading wasn’t to your liking. The truth about tarot is just that - truth.

Tarot cards do not hold back on their messaging and I cannot EVER guarantee to my clients that you’re going to hear something that you like. What I can promise to you is that I always endeavour to get your message across in an empathic way without judgment, in order for you to take away a reading that has your best interests at heart.

Good advice I can offer in this predicament is to take from the reading what works, and leave the rest. Listen/read again six months later, does it resonate a bit more? Time can make all the difference but I do acknowledge I’m not going to get the reading right on every occasion.

How will I receive my reading?

Your reading will be sent to you through your email address with an attachment of either a MP4 file to listen to, or written word. (You will get to choose what format you would like when you are in the process of adding to cart). There will also be attached photo(s) of your card spread(s). As of yet, I do not video record my readings - I hope to update this in the future.

And how will I receive the “Visions To Video” reading?

This reading will also be sent through email, with the video file sent through Google Drive available for you to view and download. There will also be attached photo(s) of your card spread(s).

The video will contain a montage of scenes and voiceover. The scenes that are in your personal montage are selected/edited by myself - interpreted from your tarot reading.

Do you offer in-person readings?

At this time, I don’t offer one-on-one in-person tarot readings, as I don’t have a dedicated space. However, I do offer tarot reading gatherings for small groups or events within New Zealand. These would need to be hosted at your home or a booked event space.

How long have you been reading the cards?

You haven’t included how long my reading will be - why?

I currently prefer not to time my tarot readings, as I believe the focus should be on delivering the guidance you need rather than adhering to a strict schedule. However, I understand that some clients may feel more assured about the value of their experience with a timed session. Rest assured, whether your reading takes ten minutes or an hour, you will receive the insights and messages meant for you.

Is my information and reading content kept private?

Yes, absolutely. Your reading is completely confidential, and I do not share its details with anyone. Once I have emailed your reading to you, I delete it from my records. I recommend downloading and saving your reading in a secure location for future reference, as I do not retain copies.

Do you have policies about what you will and won’t read about (e.g., health, legal issues)?

No, you can ask me anything you’d like, but be aware that you might not always receive the answer you’re hoping for.

Please note: Health-related readings can be challenging with tarot, as interpreting the cards for physical health requires a different approach. Tarot reflects energy, so the cards may highlight areas of energetic concern rather than specific physical issues.

How do you handle sensitive or distressing topics?

I approach all sensitive or distressing topics with the utmost care, compassion, and professionalism. I gently recommend seeking advice from a qualified professional to ensure you receive the best possible support.
